About Erica
Hi, I'm Erica K. King, PhD.
I spend my days teaching psychology, my evenings experimenting with AI, and my weekends building things I hope will actually help someone. This site is where all three meet.
I’m a psychology professor by training and a builder by temperament. For years, my work lived mostly in classrooms and journals — teaching students how the mind works and researching what actually helps people feel and function better. Then AI tools got good enough, fast enough, that I couldn’t not start experimenting.
What I found surprised me: the same evidence-informed, human-first thinking that shapes good psychological practice also makes for better, more responsible AI use. So I started teaching that, too — first to my students, then to educators and wellness professionals, and now to anyone curious enough to show up here.
Today my work sits at the intersection of psychology, AI, and hands-on building. I write, teach, and build in the open — sharing the prompts, tools, and half-finished projects along with the polished ones, because that’s the part most people never get to see. I’m also the author of Spicy Signals, a project exploring the psychology of attraction and connection that’s now growing into its own creative studio.
If you’re an educator, a therapist, a coach, a creator, or simply someone who wants to use AI to build something real — I made this place for you.
